August 2008 – British Firework Championships Plymouth – 12th &13 August 2008 Pendragon Fireworks, from Cwmbran south Wales, won the Twelfth British Firework Championships in Plymouth on 12th & 13th August. Firing last on the second night, Pendragon beat Star Fireworks, from Bracknell, into second place and Kent’s Phoenix Fireworks into third. The other competitors were Dragon Fireworks (Surrey), Skyburst The Firework Company (Bristol) and Fireworx Scotland (Aberdeenshire). This year’s displays were better than ever and the competition was red hot despite the rather cool weather. As usual, tens of thousands of people gathered along the waterfront to watch the displays. Pendragons’ Jon Mellen was delighted with the win, which he dedicated to his father. The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Councillor Brian Vincent, presented Jon Mellen with the winners’ trophy.
Pendragon was proud to support Cardiff City Football Club, providing a display for them as they entered the Premiership.
Pendragon were very happy to have provided a display for the Paralympics in Cardiff Bay.
Pendragon are pleased to have provided the annual display at Caerphilly Castle for Caerphilly Town Council.
British Firework Champion of Champions Competition, August 2013 – Pendragon went up against some of the biggest firework companies in the UK and were proud to get second place. As part of the display the Pendragon team produced a Union Jack made of lance work which measured a huge 12m x 6m. This was shown on the One Show. Pendragon received some fantastic feedback on the display.
